Warhammer: Fantasy? Or 40k?

Hey all, I'm not exactly sure if this Sub-Forum is the place for this topic, but I couldn't find a better choice.

I just wanted to run a roleplay idea past the community and see what kind of response I get. Is that alright? Well, anyway, here it goes.

To begin with...

Basically, I've been thinking about starting a character driven roleplay set in either the Warhammer Fantasy world or the Warhammer 40k universe. I have looked for a while now and I can honestly say that I have not seen a single one yet. Or if there is one, it is so far back in the pages of RP's that I haven't seen it.

For those who don't know...

The Warhammer genre was originally a tabletop game, however, unlike Dungeons and Dragons it originally focused on strategy combat instead of roleplay. However, the rich lore that the game developers created was very quickly snatched up by novelists and has become a very popular fantasy world.

Fantasy: The Warhammer Fantasy genre is pretty much what you get when you combine; Gothic architecture, steampunk, fantasy, Catholicism, werewolves, vampires, demons, the Holy Roman Empire, King Arthur, Lord of The Rings, Harry Potter, and of course Gatling guns and rocket launchers. There really isn't much more I can say about it within going into a rant that would take you two hours to read. Here's a link to a wiki.

40k: The Warhammer 40k genre is, in its essence, a simplified version of its Fantasy daddy. Only in space. This genre is the birth-child of Fantasy and Sci-Fi, and because of its much wider exposure through video-games, it is much more well known. In many ways, too, it is more original than Warhammer Fantasy. No other genre, fantasy or sci-fi has created a universe quite like the one in 40k. I really recommend everyone check out the link for a wiki on it further down below.

My predicament is this...

While I think the Warhammer Fantasy world is more suited to the type of adventurous/working together/characters from various races teaming up/roleplay I had in mind; the Warhammer 40k universe is much more widely known and understood, and has much more readily available information on it online.

For example; the Warhammer 40k universe has an entire wiki dedicated to it (http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Warhammer_40k_Wiki) that is very well organized. So people who aren't familiar with the universe itself could get a grasp on the basics quite quickly and easily, and could still participate in the RP if they wanted to.

Meanwhile, the Warhammer Fantasy world is much more complicated and the sheer amount of lore would most likely be affronting to most people who haven't been exposed to it a bit at a time through novelizations.

So basically...

I'd just like to see which one the community would enjoy more.
