Boeing has turned over the first of three 787s to Air India at its North Charleston, S.C., assembly complex.

Boeing has turned over the first of three 787s to Air India at its North Charleston, S.C., assembly complex, the company said Thursday.

The delivery had been delayed for months as the companies wrangled over compensation for the plane's three-year delay and its performance characteristics.

The troubled airline has a total of 25 Dreamliners on order.
