Watertown-Mayer schools recently partnered with entertainment agency G.L. Berg to bring more events to the district?s Performing Arts Center.
The Watertown-Mayer School District has entered into a new partnership with a St. Cloud entertainment agency in order to better promote and make use of the high school?s Performing Arts Center.
The school district has partnered with G.L. Berg Entertainment, Performing Artists & Speakers in an agreement that will include no risk to the school district. G.L. Berg will be allowed to utilize the facility, and will assume all costs and also retain any profits. The school district will benefit in that the Performing Arts Center will get increased exposure and the town of Watertown will have access to new entertainment.
?I see it as our PAC, in the past, has been very underuitizlied,? superintendent Dave Marlette said.? ?One of my goals is that I want to utilize that PAC center like it was meant to be when taxaperys approved it. We?re trying to bring in more events to get more people to come into our PAC.?
G.L. Berg last week announced its first show for the PAC last week, a comedy show geared toward women and scheduled for deer hunting weekend, on Nov. 2. Look for more on the agreement between G.L. Berg and the Watertown-Mayer schools, as well as the comedy show, in this week?s Carver County News.
